About the Author
My name is Michael McCollum and write character-driven sci-fi and fantasy, dreaming of one day doing so full time. I live in Alexandria, Virginia years round with my brother and dad, but go to college at Christopher Newport university. I've written over 6 novels and several short stories but, as you can imagine, they all sucked until I finally published NYSUS.
I'm not the first person to dream of being an author full time, and art isn't exactly at its most valued and respected for the moment. Through the squeezing hands of Amazon, publishers, and every other wolf and jackal in the book world, I want to keep my stories to their unique blend of thrills and depth, tragedy and comedy. If you aren't rich, it's not easy to make a splash in the modern publishing world. I'm thanking anyone who took the time to read this for taking a chance on me. I don't konw where I'll be in 20 years, but I know that if I'm not making money off writing, then I'll still be trying to get there.
